No experience with the Zero Elite. Was pleased with the R0 on my 365XL while practicing at an indoor range. Recently went to an outdoor range and Lord, could not see the dot to save my life. Sig Romeo Zero: it fits perfect, about $200, has built in rear sight, all plastic. But MAC on YouTube had issues. Shield RMSc: Over $400, metal and glass, unobtanium. SMSc is closer to $200, but all plastic. Holosun 507k: almost $300, really wide almost useless rear sight, side drawer for battery, circle-dot reticle.

You do not need the rear pins that came with Max-9, the 507k doesn't use them. Check that the screws are not bottoming in the holes.
